Black & Grey Realism
Hello, I'm Matt, a professional tattoo artist with a huge background in graphic design, used to create: comic books, airbrushed and hand painted murals, vehicles, as adequately as canvas art. One of my true loves is being a extraordinary effects makeup painter and sculptor using these skills for movies, prop companies, body painting competitions, and haunted houses.

I hold a keen eye for detail, specializing in black and grey realism, okay line, watercolor, comic book, illustrative, and horror style designs. My goal is to climb inside your head & pull out what you are looking for and celebration myself on delivering a design that you will treasure to wear for a lifetime!

Paper Doll Tattoo: Fayettevilles Newest and Queerest Tattoo Shop
By Natalie Murphy
Just by taking a glance inside of Paper Doll Tattoo, its easy to say it doesnt feel like the stereotypical place to obtain a tattoo. Unlike the masculine, grunge-like shops you might normally think of, Paper Doll is shiny, quirky and colorful, featuring paintings and prints by the shops own artists.
Opened at the end of October, the decor of the shop is not the only thing that sets it apart from others in the area. The most notable difference is that it has an all female and queer adjacent staff. Something that is very uncommon in an especially male dominated industry.
Its the staff at the shop that is also bringing in so many customers. Just like the artists, their demographic is largely women and aligned with the LGBTQ community. Their shop provides a safe territory for these marginalized groups and is making them feel welcomed and approved in the Fayetteville community.

Sad Circus Studio: Transgender Owned Tattoo Studio
After meeting owners Nicolai and Angell I have to declare, Im in love with Depressed Circus Studio. They are both wonderfully authentic and their dedication to their clients needs is extraordinary. They filled me in about how many negative experiences they had with various tattoo shops or had seen gender non-conforming customers not get the respect or time they deserved. This spurred them into action to create the space they envisioned, where everyone is welcome and respected. They opened Sad Circus Studio in July , my favorite transgender-owned tattoo parlor.
GayDenver: How would you describe Sad Circus Studio?
Sad Circus Studio: We characterize it as an entirely distinct way to experience getting a tattoo. We try to be very inclusive; we try to keep a low-lit area. We don’t want to overstimulate, especially when youre going to be strapped by needles. Trying to make a fun, safe environment to make some cool art has always been our goal.
I have worked with a lot of clients that are not only just from the gay community, but also I wor
