Pre-Danube II: July 31 - Aug 3,

Known as the finest city in the Habsburg dynasty, Budapest is made up of two separate towns, hilly Buda on the Danube's western bank and Pest on the eastern side. This is a city rich in historical sights, including Roman ruins, the Neo-Classical Parliament and many famed Turkish thermal baths. Budapest is richly endowed with natural springs of thermal waters which supply the city's many thermal baths.

The annual Gay Pride Festival has been organized every year since , with a street march and various parties afterwards. There are about a dozen bars, clubs and venues in Budapest that are visited mostly by gay people. Gay Budapest

Perhaps because of its famous baths (and the cruising at many of them), Budapest has always been a quiet male lover hotspot. It just may be the gayest destination in Eastern Europe, and despite clashes with drastic right-wing demonstrators in and , there's been a Gay Pride march in the city since
Hungary remains a conservative state but there are several gay bars and gay-friendly restaurants in the capital, mostly found on the Pest side. The crowds tend to be a good mix of all ages and styles, and the places very laid-back and welcoming. But what the city does foremost for its gay visitors than most other European cities are its saunas, which are huge and beautiful.

  • For many years the optimal known cruising area in Budapest was the promenade along the Danube on the Pest side (Duna-korzó) between Marcius 15 tér and Vigadó tér. It is no longer a cruising area but a very few rentboys can usually be found there from 5 pm until 11 pm. Rentboys can also be found in the underpass linking the tram stop and the metro stop at the Nyugati train station. Beware of police checks. Greater then usual care and caution is to be applied with these hustlers.
  • The little park north off Margit bridge on the Buda side. The cruising area is found near the playground and small pool after crossing the street separating the park. Best age sunset until 11 pm.
  • The people's park (Népliget) is the busiest daytime and nightime cruising park in Budapest. The best way to conduct yourself in this park is to imagine a rectangular space with a ring road within it. The metro stop (Népliget) is where you will come out and is located in the drop right corner of the rectangle. Hustlers can also be found in the pa
